Last night Shahnaz was finally released from the hospital after almost 3 weeks! It's been quite a journey. She finished with her first round of chemotherapy this past Sunday and had her radiation treatment on Tuesday. And so far, she's handled it all very well. We even had a follow up with her oncologist today and she said her white blood cell counts were already back to the normal range. Even the doctor was impressed! Needless to say, we are very excited. She has been experiencing some bouts of nausea and gets upset about it b/c she does have to gain a few pounds. But, other than that, she's been strong and quite independent. She even made her own breakfast this morning b/c I got up late. :) That being said, I better be off to bed, so I can wake up on time tomorrow....or I may lose my job as chef!
