Hi Everyone,
I just wanted to thank you all for your continued support and positive energy. It has been such a rollercoaster ride for the past couple weeks and we couldn't have gotten where we are right now without all of the love you all have given us.
Shahnaz is in great spirits. She is back on her chemo treatments, and is feeling awesome. It is the second of 4 consecutive days (24 hour continuous drip of chemo). If you don't know, she started her chemo last weekend at a super high dose where she experienced horrible side effects thus suspending her treatment until she got better. She began again a couple days of ago at a lower dosage and has feeling great.
She will be getting radiation treatment this coming Tuesday for the lesions (there are 2) in her brain. This procedure will pinpoint the exact spots in her brain and radiate the cancer cells. The doctors are hoping, if all goes well, that she will be able to come home next week. :)
I guess that's it for now, we are very excited about the progess. Oh! Her doctor, Dr. Park (oncologist), said the the tumor in her heart has shrank according to measurements even after the initial chemo treatment given to her over the previous weekend. Hopefully the cancer cells continue to respond to the treatment and we can continue on this path towards good health. :)
